Our Purpose
Beyond Our Boundaries is a recreation service company for adults with Developmental Disabilities (DD). Beyond Our Boundaries offers trips of a lifetime to fun destinations, in hopes of bringing people with DD together for friendships and to set the stage for creating an active social life.

What We Do
At Beyond Our Boundaries we work hard to give your loved one an opportunity to make friends, learn new skills, become more social, and have fun with great people. Beyond Our Boundaries' staff are certified in First Aid, and CPR. An RN attends each trip. Beyond Our Boundaries' recreation staff thoroughly trains chaperones who accompany our participants on the trips. All are required to submit a background check.
HOW TO REGISTER FOR A VACATION:

- Click on "download our current calendar" to read your choices
- Choose which trips you'd like to take
- Communicate with us regarding any questions you may have:

- Go to the Forms & Paperwork tab and click the links to print and complete our Registration Page and Social History form and send to us by mail or fax.
- After we have reviewed your paperwork, you'll be asked to send in your copy of your photo ID and your covid vaccination card, including booster dates, along with full payment or deposit

About the Director
Beyond Our Boundaries was founded in January, 2001 by Debra Shumard, a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) with a masters degree in therapeutic recreation.
Deb taught ballroom dancing to couples groups & adults with disabilities from 1989- 2004.
Deb has served as a guardian for her younger brother Michael, an adult with autism, for over 30 years, and is happy to meet with families who are considering Beyond Our Boundaries as an option for services.
